New projects underway this spring at Bluffton Presbyterian
Bluffton Presbyterian Church has installed a new electronic yard sign for the purpose of connecting with and encouraging the local community, according to Rev. Karol Farris Schilling, pastor.
"Both church and community messages will be displayed on the sign," she said.
A policy is in place for community requests. Non-profit and public organizations may fill out an application to be considered for a display in the message rotation at no cost. The form will be made available at www.blufftonpc.org.
The congregation is also currently seeking a person to fill a new Communications Coordinator position, whose primary task would be managing the designs for the electronic sign as well as the associated request and approval process. The job description is available on the church website. Interested applicants should contact the church as soon as possible.
The sign is funded by generous gifts from current member George Stultz and from the bequest of Bob and Mary Barnett, who were long-time BPC members.
A second project funded by the Barnett bequest is a new 20-by-20-foot gazebo, which is scheduled to be installed on the side lawn in May.
“Many thanks to Dick and Jayne McGarrity, George Stultz, and all in the congregation who helped nurture these projects from ideas to possibilities to realities,” she said.
“We look forward to connecting with our community in these new and exciting ways, as an extension of our mission of Growing in Faith, Sharing God’s Love.”
