Evening degree-completion for social work
Bluffton University to offer evening degree-completion program for social work
Bluffton University is now offering a degree-completion program for its nationally accredited social work major.
Designed for working adults, the cost-effective and convenient bachelor’s program can be completed in as little as two years.
All classes will be held one night a week, with some classes offered in an online format and some face-to-face on Bluffton’s campus. Classes for the first cohort will begin on Aug. 4, 2021.
“Area agencies seek out Bluffton graduates as knowledgeable and prepared social workers,” said Dr. Walt Paquin, professor of social work.
“There is a growing need-for well-trained professionals in this field, and many Bluffton social work majors have jobs lined up well before they graduate.”
The program is a good fit for associate’s degree graduates in fields such as social work, education, criminal justice, allied health or human services.
However, 4-year-degree holders who would like to earn a second bachelor’s degree and switch careers are also encouraged to apply. Prospective students with some college credit but no degree should speak with an enrollment counselor.
Bluffton social work graduates are prepared for both entry-level positions and graduate school. Graduates work in both public and private settings such as children’s services, mental health facilities, nursing homes, schools, corrections facilities and rehabilitation clinics.
