Village focuses on internet security and reliability

Amber Troutwine of Perry proTECH gave a presentation during the Finance Committee meeting, July 15, detailing the current internet network in use by the Village. Some wireless connections are either currently not working or very slow and lack cyber security. It was proposed to update these connections with reliable internet and improve security. The plan was quoted at $8,603.83. The Finance Committee agreed to continue with the proposal. Initial taps and connections for a virtual private network (VPN) are scheduled for installation by Spectrum on or before Friday, July 30.

Additional grant-funded bike racks from the partnership between the Bluffton Pathway Board and the Creating Healthy Communities Program through Allen County Public Health will be delivered this week. The Public Works Departments will install the racks in the near future at the following locations:

The gas line replacement program is coming to a close. New main lines have been installed. The connections to homes and businesses will be completed by mid-August and restoration of disturbed areas will begin around this time.
