Bluffton netters fall to Bath

The host Bluffton girls tennis team lost to Bath 4-1 Tuesday evening.
The Lady Pirate netters fell to 2-3 with the defeat. Bath improved to 3-1 with the victory.
Pirate seniors Ellie Nickel and Libby Frazier combined to post the lone Bluffton win at first doubles. They split the first two sets, winning 6-1 and losing 1-6. The duo then won a 10-point third set tiebreaker by a 10-7 count to take the bout.
Bath won the other four matches in straight sets.
Bluffton sophomore Leah Klingler and freshman Genevieve Gatchel lost a tough battle at second doubles 6-4, 7-6.
Bluffton plays at Wapakoneta (5-2) Wednesday, August 25 at 4:30 p.m. The Pirates then host Fostoria August 30.
