Brion Lee Basinger was general manager of Applied Industrial Technologies
Brion Lee Basinger, 63, passed away September 1, 2021 at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born November 15, 1957 to the late Wallace and Mary Jo (Hitchcock) Basinger. Following his mother’s death, he was raised by his father Wallace and Joan (Montgomery) Basinger. Brion married the love of his life and best friend, Elaine (Hilty) Basinger on June 9, 1979.
Brion was a 1976 graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School and was a 1981 graduate of Findlay College. He was the general manager of Applied Industrial Technologies where he started his career and worked for 42 years. Brion’s greatest passion was following and serving Christ. He was devoted to ministering to others, teaching small groups and serving as an elder at Pandora Missionary Church. Brion’s greatest joy was his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. Brion enjoyed coaching and watching his children through various sports. He delighted in spending time with his family and going on vacations to the beach. Brion loved going on adventures with his wife as they traveled to many places. They enjoyed taking Sunday afternoon bike rides. Brion had a competitive spirit and enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. He was always happy for a competitive game of golf with his sons. Brion had a generous heart and was willing to help anyone in need.
Survivors include his wife Elaine Basinger of Pandora; four children, Adam (Kaitlyn) Basinger of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Austin (Carrie) Basinger of Fishers, Indiana, Amber (Ben) Scheumann of Palm Bay, Florida and Abram (Jennifer) Basinger of Dayton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Elon Wallace, Kya Kay and Micah Lee Basinger; and three brothers, Kevin (Heidi) Basinger of Cedarville, Ohio, Bruce (Stacy) Basinger of Pandora, Ohio and Tim (Amanda) Basinger of Bluffton, Ohio.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Pandora Missionary Church, Pastor Matthew Steiner officiating. Private burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pandora Missionary Church or Pandora-Bluffton Youth for Christ.
