Bluffton boys beaten by Beavercreek

The visiting Bluffton boys soccer team lost at Beavercreek 3-1 in a non-league match Thursday night, September 9.

Ninth-ranked Bluffton fell to 4-2-1 with the defeat. The Beavers improved to 4-3 with the victory.

Beavercreek scored first 17:21 into the contest. The Beavers then tallied consecutive goals 63 seconds apart in the 36th and 37th minutes to build a 3-0 halftime lead.

Jude Spallinger scored the lone Bluffton goal 8:08 into the second half on an assist from Landon Novak.

Bluffton aimed two of its six shots on goal. Beavercreek got off 28 shots, 12 of which were on goal.

Pirate keeper Kyle Basil was credited with 11 saves in goal.

The Pirates play at Van Buren (3-1) Tuesday, September 14. VB edged Riverdale 3-2 Thursday evening.

Bluffton then plays at WBL rival Kenton (4-0-2) Sept. 16.
