Pirate linksters beat Leipsic
The Bluffton boys golf team finished second in a three-team league tri-match at Hidden Creek Golf Club Tuesday evening, September 14.
Bluffton defeated Leipsic 167-176, but lost to Northwest Conference leader Allen East 160-167. AE defeated the Vikings 160-176 to stay atop the NWC at 13-1.
Pirate Kenny Lovett carded a round of 40 to pace the Bluffton linksters.
Jacob Boisvert and Wes Brauen each added a score of 42. Jaden Coonfare shot 43 to round out the Pirate scorers.
Teammate Micah Minnig posted a 45, and Aiden Sponsler added a 52 to complete the Bluffton effort.
Mustang Zach Miller was match medalist with a low score of 37. Teammate Cameron Hedrick carded a 39 to finish second, one stroke ahead of Lovett.
Bluffton (11-5, 10-4 NWC) plays Thursday at Hickory Sticks Golf Course in a league bout hosted by Lincolnview (11-1, 10-1 NWC), which also features Crestview and Allen East.
