Volunteer opportunities at MHCO facilities
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio offers the following volunteer opportunities at MHCO: Mennonite Memorial Home, Willow Ridge, Hilty Home and Maple Crest.

Mennonite Memorial Home
- Medical Transport drivers: (Licensed driver to take residents to Bluffton, Lima, Findlay doctors’ appointments)
- Volunteer drivers help take residents to appointments during the week using the MHCO handicap accessible van or 15 -passenger bus.
- Bluffton shopping Assistant: (Tuesday at 9:00 am)
- Help elders shop for items they need for the week. Volunteers will help a few residents pick out needed items. Local trip usually takes a couple hours and makes 2-3 stops depending on interest of elders.
Inside activities to support residents:
- Welcome and screen guests. Support guest visitation of residents 5:00 – 7:00 pm
- Assist elders select meal plan option for the week. 11:30 am
- Lead Worship Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm
- Help transport elders by wheelchair to appointments for internal clinics
- Pass out water @ 2:30 pm
Outside work:
- Power wash chairs and other items as needed
- Weeding/Cleaning - help with yardwork
Willow Ridge
Inside activities:
- Play piano and or other instrument for elders
Outside work:
- Weeding/cleaning - help with yardwork
- Fill bird feeders weekly
Hilty Home
Inside activities:
- Help take elders to appointments for internal clinics and haircuts
- Play piano and or other instrument for elders
Outside work:
- Power wash chairs and other items as needed
- Weeding/Cleaning - help with yardwork
- Stain Gazebo
Maple Crest
Inside activities:
Bible Study Leader: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month in person at 3:00 pm:
