By Cort Reynolds

Playing at home, the Bluffton girls soccer team handed Miller City its first defeat with a decisive 6-0 shutout Thursday night, September 23, at Steinmetz Field.

Junior Allison Diller netted a hat trick and passed out two assists to pace the victors.

The Pirate girls improved to 7-2-1 overall with the non-league win.

MC fell to 5-1-3 with the defeat.

Senior Reagan Mittendorf scored in the first minute, and Bluffton was never threatened.

Five minutes later, Diller tallied her first goal to build an early 2-0 lead.

Scoles netted goals in the ninth and 11th minutes off Diller assists to extend the margin to 4-0.

Diller found the back of the net again in the 23rd minute to make it 5-0. She added the final goal in the 70th minute to provide the eventual margin of victory.

The Pirate offense got off 27 shots, 13 of which were on goal.

MC managed just four shots against the Bluffton defense, two of which were on goal.
