University men win in Windy City
The Bluffton University men's soccer team traveled to Chicago, Ill. for its second trip to the Windy City in the past two weeks. Bluffton downed the home team 3-1 as the Beavers improved to 4-2 on the season.
Although Moody went on top 1-0 just over two minutes into the contest, a Dalton Taynor (Troy/Miami East) tally knotted it up less than 30 seconds later. Elijah Zimmerman (Archbold) put the visitors up for good in minute seven and Taynor iced it with his ninth goal of the season early in the second half.
Bluffton finished with a 15-7 advantage in shots, including 8-2 on frame. The Beavers forced three more corner kicks on Saturday. Taynor fired five shots at the Archers in Bluffton's 3-1 victory.
The Beavers will kick off Heartland Conference action at home against rival Defiance College on Wednesday, Sept. 29. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. at the Sears Complex.
