The visiting Bluffton girls soccer team shut out local non-league rival Cory-Rawson 4-0 Tuesday evening.

The Pirate girls improved to 11-3-1 overall with the convincing victory.

Cory-Rawson dropped to 4-9-1 after the loss.

Pirate Riley Eachus scored in the fourth minute on an Allison Diller assist to give Bluffton an early 1-0 lead.

Jasi Crawfis doubled the lead three minutes later on an unassisted score.

Sami Scoles extended the advantage to 3-0 with a score in the 12th minute.

Eachus netted her second goal in the 45th minute on a feed from Makayla Schweingruber.

The Pirate offense peppered Cory with 53 shots, 22 of which were on goal. C-R got off 10 shots, four of which were on targe.

Pirate junior keeper Julia Mehaffie made four saves in goal. The busy C-R keeper was credited with 16 stops.

Bluffton improved to 4-2-1 on the road with the win.

Bluffton's final conference match is a makeup contest at home vs. Ada (2-9-1, 0-4-1 NWC) Wednesday night, Oct. 13.

The defending NWC champion Pirates need a win and a Columbus Grove loss to Crestview to earn a tie for the league title.
