Anderson downs Beavers in four sets
The Bluffton University volleyball team dropped a four-setter at Anderson University on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2021. The Beavers fell to 9-14 overall and 1-3 in the Heartland Conference, while Anderson improved to 9-10 and 2-2 in the Heartland Conference.
Bluffton and Anderson traded a pair of 25-19 victories to open the evening before another 25-19 Anderson set put the home team up 2-1. Set four went past the breaking point and the Ravens came away victorious when they scored four of the final five points for the 27-25 clincher.
Senior Cassidy Posey (Paulding) did the heavy lifting with 15 kills against just six errors for a .250 hitting percentage. She fired three aces and added two blocks for the Beavers. Freshman Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) just missed double figures with nine kills, while Kaylie Campbell (Camden/Preble Shawnee) and Alysha Like (McComb) smacked seven and six kills, respectively.
Maddie White (Ashland) doled out 35 assists, picked up 10 digs, stuffed the home team with three blocks and tacked on three kills for good measure, hitting .333 for the night.
