Okuly and Brown recognized for Buckeye Boys State particpation
On Monday, October 18, Bluffton American Legion Post 382 Commander Fred Rodabaugh and Buckeye Boys State Staff member Dennis Morrison presented Certificates of Appreciation to Bluffton High School students Eli Okuley and Jonah Brown for their participation in the Ohio American Legion Buckeye Boys State program in 2021.
Earlier this year, Morrison encouraged Okuley and Brown to extend their education about local and state governments at the event at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Morrison comments, “I believe if you ask them and the other 640 young men who attended, they will without a doubt tell you, it was a week to shape a lifetime!”
Founded in 1936, the program is an eight-day hands-on experience in the operation of the democratic form of government, the organization of political parties, and the relationship of one to the other in shaping Ohio government.. In 2022, the program will be June 12-19.
