Carolyn Ladd co-owned Gillett Bakery
Carolyn (Gillett) Ladd, 79, of Delphos, passed away on November 28, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Lima. She was born on August 23, 1942, to George and Emily (Timothy) Steager. They both preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Robert Ladd on June 3, 1996 who passed away November 24, 2021.
Carolyn is survived by four children, John Gillett of Lima, Penny Gillett of Columbus, Dan (Judy) Gillett of Columbus Grove, and Sheri (James) Griffin of Delphos; a brother, Timothy Steager of Vickory; grandchildren, Kimberly (Nathan), Andrea (Matt), Matthew (Rachel), Sarah (Steve), and Chaz (Sarah); great-grandchildren, Catharina, Perfeita, Elijah, Makeda, Levi, Hanson, Eric, Abigail, Millie, Brayden, and Brenden; and a long time foster child Anna Baldonado.
She was also preceded in death by a son, David Gillett; a grandson, Daniel Gillett; two brothers, Jackie and Joe Steager, a sister-in-law, Barb Steager and a daughter-in-law, Maria Gillett
Carolyn was a member of Christian Heritage Fellowship International Church in Delphos. She was a co-owner of Gillett Bakery from 1967-1985 where she was the cake decorator. After that time she was an in-home health care aid. She loved to sing and play the piano. Carolyn also enjoyed working in her garden, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Grace Baptist Church in Lima. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to the time of service on Thursday. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Bluffton.
