Kinn scores 20 in victory over Panthers
Visiting Bluffton used a big second quarter to tally a season-high point total and blow out McComb 83-48 in a non-conference boys basketball contest Saturday night, December 11.
Bluffton led 21-12 after the first period of play. But then the Pirates outscored the Panthers 22-5 in the second stanza to build an insurmountable 43-17 advantage.
Bluffton out-pointed McComb 40-31 after intermission.
Bluffton improved to 3-1 with the win, while McComb dropped to 0-3 with the defeat.
Kyler Kinn tallied a game-high 20 points to pace the victors. Trenton Donley netted 12 of his 16 points in the decisive second period.
Trey Boblitt added points on three treys, while Nate Schaadt scored eight markers. Four other Pirates tallied six points apiece in a balanced scoring effort.
Holman led McComb with 14 points, while Glaser added 12.
The Pirates connected on a season-high 35 field goals, hitting 28 two-pointers and seven trifectas. Bluffton converted six of 16 free throws (38 percent).
McComb sank six shots from three-point land, and connected on 14 baskets inside the arc for a total of 20 field goals. The Panthers canned two of their mere four attempts from the charity stripe (50 percent).
Bluffton committed just eight turnovers. McComb was guilty of 19 miscues.
