Ron Courtney worked for Mars Pet Care
Ronald Eugene Courtney, 59, passed away December 17, 2021 at Lima Memorial Health System. Ron was born December 1, 1962 in Lima to the late Ronald and Verna (Phillips) Courtney. On August 30, 1986 he married Mary McCafferty Courtney.
Ron worked as a maintenance man/technician at Mars Pet Care in Leipsic. He was an active member of Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren in Lima. Ron enjoyed playing softball and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati Reds but most of all watching his grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Courtney of Lima; three children, Ashley (Jeremy) Mummert of Bluffton, Aaron (Emily) Courtney of Lima, Andrew (Jessica) Courtney of Beaverdam; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Levi and Luke Mummert, Arya and Kason Courtney, Donovan and Vivian Courtney; a brother, Rick (Princess) Courtney of Lima; and three sisters, Marcia (Max) McCafferty of Bluffton, Rebecca (John) Johns of Cridersville, Lucretia "Keke" (Dick) VanDyke of Lima.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton with Pastor Mike Huffaker officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Beaverdam. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren or to the charity of the donor's choice.
