Beavers return to pool at ONU
he Bluffton University women's swimming team made a grand re-entry back into the pool on Friday, Jan. 21, after a two-month holiday hiatus. Bluffton went up against Ohio Wesleyan University and host Ohio Northern.
Two-sport standout Brooke Kleman (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) continued her assault on the record book with a 2nd place finish in the 200-yard IM (2:21.62) and a 3rd place showing in the 100-yard fly (1:05.40).
Grace Branson (Carlisle) and Flor Avilez (Santa Lucia, Honduras/Dowal School) timed 39.80 and 40.64, respectively, in the 50-yard freestyle. Isabel Miller (Dayton/Centerville) went 1:25.45 in the 100-yard freestyle. She also competed in the 100-yard backstroke.
The women will tie a bow on their inaugural season when they head to Rose-Hulman for the Heartland Conference Championships on Thursday, Feb. 10, the first of three days which will determine the top individuals and team in the HCAC.
