Ronald L. Zimmerly was a farmer

Ronald L. Zimmerly Sr., 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Pandora on February 3, 2022.
Ronald was born June 18, 1942 in Bluffton, OH, to Dwight and Jaunita (Weiss) Zimmerly who preceded him in death. On September 1, 1963 he married the love of his life, and best friend, Jill (Borton) Zimmerly.
Ron was a graduate of Carey High School. He dedicated his entire life to farming. He enjoyed antique tractors, attending cattle shows, working on puzzles, visiting with his neighbors, spending time with his family; especially the grandkids, and attending sporting events. Ron was extremely social, he never knew a stranger.
Survivors include his loving wife; Jill Zimmerly of Pandora, four children; Ronald (Kelli) Zimmerly Jr. of Bellefontaine, Renee (Alex Naton) Wank of Defiance, Roxanne (Randy) Schumacher of Columbus Grove, and Robert (Barb) Zimmerly of Caldwell, OH, fourteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren with two on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother; Alice Zimmerly, a daughter-in-law, and a grandson.
A celebration of life will take place Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton. A private burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Putnam County 4-H Endowment Fund.
