Travel opportunities with Bluffton Senior Center
By Tonya Meyer, Director of the Bluffton Senior Center
Are you missing the joy of traveling? It isn’t as easy as it used to be. Restaurants are closed or don’t have dining in, hotels book early, sights have odd times or are closed.
We can put the fun back into travel by doing all the work for you. The Bluffton Senior Center has some great trips planned for 2022.
VINTAGE ILLINOIS
From June 13-18, we will be traveling with Country Travel Discoveries to see Vintage Illinois. We will visit the land of Lincoln, see a hand laid brick Route 66 and travel the Great River Road. A knowledgeable tour guide will be with us to answer questions and tell us all the interesting things we are seeing. This trip is six days long and includes 13 meals. Stop by the Senior Center, 132 N Main, for a full brochure.
CANADIAN ROCKIES
On September 24, the Senior Center will be leaving the country! We are headed north to Canada. We will spend nine days in the Canadian Rockies visiting Banff, Lake Louise and much more. We will travel the Icefields Parkway, walk on a glacier and ride a boat on Medicine Lake to Spirit Island. From Jasper, we will take the majestic Rocky Mountaineer in Gold Leaf Service to Vancouver enjoying wonderful views along the way.
This trip includes rides to and from airports, flights, train ride and 16 meals over 9 days. Call Tonya at 419-358-8971 for questions or stop by the Senior Center and pick up a brochure.
Please note, there is no age requirement for travel. Non-members pay $20 extra, the cost of Senior Center membership. Capacity is 42 people, so sign up runs until the trip is full or in the case of the Canadian Rockies, when the airlines need final confirmation (this date is not yet set).
