Bluffton troop goes Scouting for Food
UPDATED: Troop 256 contact information at the end of this article.
Bluffton Boy Scout Troop 256 distributed bright yellow door hang tags throughout Bluffton on March 5 as part of the Scouting for Food, A National Good Turn for America program. The collection will benefit the Bluffton Food Pantry, which is located within St. John's United Church-Christ, 223 W College Ave.
The tags ask residents to place canned goods and non-perishable foods in bags and to place the bags on their front steps by 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 12. Scouts will pick up the items and take them to the Bluffton Food Pantry. Please do not include glass items.
The food pantry is run by the Bluffton Community Assistance Corporation, a local non-profit volunteer organization providing supplemental food and assistance to qualifying community members in the Bluffton school district. Food distribution takes place on the third Saturday of the month and the following Wednesday.
For more information about distribution, contact director Jami Crawfis Director at 419-236-2944. For information about donations and volunteer opportunties, contact Ed and Nancy Yeager, 419-302-7715.
