Spring indoor and outdoor volunteer opportunities blossom at MHCO
Spring brings indoor and outdoor volunteer opportunities to the following Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) facilities. Persons interested may contact Chris Moser, [email protected], 419-358-1015 extension 263.
- Hilty Home, 304 Hilty Dr., Pandora
- Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W Elm St., Bluffton
- Willow Ridge, 101 Willow Ridge Dr., Bluffton
- Maple Crest, 700 Maple Crest Ct., Bluffton
At Mennonite Memorial Home
Inside activities:
- Play games with residents on 3rd floor
- Nail care salon weekly at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
- Visit and sit with elders inside (or outside weather permitting in Sycamore garden, patio, etc.)
- Lead Worship Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
- Help fold laundry (around 9:00 a.m.)
- Pass out water (around 9:30 a.m. an 2:30 p.m.)
Outside work:
- Help with Spring cleaning (power wash and other) & landscaping activities
At Willow Ridge
Inside activities:
- Read, reminisce and sit with elders
- Outdoor chats with residents
- Nail care salon weekly at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m.
- Help serve breakfast meals on occasion (Call 419-358-1015 ext. 412)
- Play piano or other instrument for elders
Outside work:
- Help with Spring clean-up & landscaping activities
- Fill bird feeders weekly
At Hilty Home
Inside activities:
- Lead Bible study (Tuesday and/or Thursday at 10:30 a.m.)
- Help take elders to appointments for internal clinics and haircuts
- Play piano and or other instrument for elders
Outside work:
- Help with Spring cleaning & landscaping activities
At Maple Crest
Inside activities:
- Lead games and discussions with residents (news bits and other)
- Bible Study Leader: 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month in person at 3:00 p.m.: May, June, July
Outside work:
- Help with Spring cleaning (repair/clean chairs and other items) & landscaping support
- Support with indoor/outdoor resident events and activities (shopping and other)
