Rolland Dodge worked for United Telephone Company
Rolland "Rolly" Dodge, 93, passed away March 31, 2022, at 6:30 a.m., Bridge Hospice Care Center.
Rolly was born December 27, 1928 in Ada, to Elza and Marjorie (McBride) Dodge who preceded him in death. On November 4, 1951 he married Mary Alice (High) Dodge who preceded him in death on April 28, 2017.
Rolly was a life-time member of St. John's United Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Lima Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Lima VFW and the Bluffton American Legion. He retired from the United Telephone Company after 35 years of dedication.
He loved to fish, play cards, and go camping. He was very creative in his work shop, a self-taught fabricator and a jack of all trades.
He is survived by his children: Lu Ann Frisch of Wallbridge, OH and Dana Dodge of Bluffton; four grandsons, Andrew Redick, Benjamin Redick, Joshua Dodge, and Travis Frisch; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Madilene Lenhart, Virginia Cowles, and Betty Barringer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and seven siblings: Roger Dodge, William Dodge, Howard Dodge, Gary Dodge, Kathryn Snyder, Inez Crouse, and Patricia Lenhart.
Services will be held April 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ. Pastor Jeremy Mann to officiate the service. Visitation will be Friday, April 8, 2022, 10:0011:00 a.m. at the church. A private burial will take place at a later date.
