April 10 Masterworks concert features Messiah excerpts

Bluffton University’s Masterworks performance will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 10 in Yoder Recital Hall. Reservations can be made at www.bluffton.edu/tickets.

The concert, featuring soloists and a chorus, will include parts 2 and 3 of Handel’s “Messiah.” Dr. Young Bo Kang, Bluffton University director of choral activities, will conduct.

The chorus, comprised of University Chorale, Camerata Singers and Choral Society, featuring Bluffton-area community members, held rehearsals weekly in order to prepare for this event.

The performance is funded by the Krehbiel-Raid-Pankratz Music Endowment. The endowment was established in 1985 by Dr. Howard Raid along with family and friends of the Krehbiel, Raid and Pankratz families. The purpose of the endowment is to provide an annual scholarship to a Bluffton student studying music and to underwrite the cost of a classical music concert during spring term involving Bluffton students and community members.

Contributions to the Krehbiel-Raid-Pankratz Music Endowment can be sent to Bluffton University, 1 University Drive, Bluffton, OH 45817, or made through our secure website by choosing “Krehbiel-Raid-Pankratz Music Endowment” on www.bluffton.edu/give as the fund designation.
