Robert Painter hosted trips for Bluffton Senior Center
Robert E. Painter, of Pandora, Ohio, was surrounded by his loving family when he went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 1, 2022. He was born November 26, 1933, on the Nau family farm near Arcadia, Ohio, to his parents Robert W. and Alice B. (Nau) Painter. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Beverly J. Damon, in 1951, and were blessed with more than 70 years of adventures together. She survives in Pandora, Ohio. Bob is also survived by four children; Richard (Donna) Painter of Waynesville, OH, Deborah Miracle of Pandora, OH, Barbara Stahler of Findlay, OH, Jeffrey Painter of Findlay; son-in-law Mark Hein of Millersport, OH; one brother, Derol R. (Carol) Painter and family of Fort Myers, FL; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and many “adopted” family members.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lynn E. Painter; daughter, Roberta J. Hein; grandson, Jonathon D. Painter; granddaughter, Jennifer Shaw; grandson, BJ McDonald; son-in-law, Mick Stahler; and son-in-law, Robert McDonald.
Bob graduated from Arcadia High School where he was involved in FFA, 4-H, band, orchestra, and choir. He was a dairy farmer for many years. Later, he worked in real estate and insurance sales. At age 85, he retired from his last job at the Bluffton Senior Center where he especially enjoyed planning and hosting trips for the senior citizens.
He was a member of the Pandora United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee and member of the choir. Bob loved music and sang in school, church, barbershop choruses, and quartets. He and Bev also enjoyed singing duets over the years.
It is said that “The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother,” and our dad showed us that kind of love every day.
Friends and family may visit at Pandora United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harry Scott officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bob’s honor can be made to Pandora UMC or Bluffton Senior Center. HUFFORD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 1500 Manor Hill Rd, Findlay (419-422-1500) has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at: www.huffordfh.com.
