Ronald Reese served in the U.S. Army Reserves
Ronald "Ron" J. Reese, 72, passed away on April 8, 2022, at 11:44 am, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born December 21, 1949 in Bluffton, OH, to the late Lehr and Evelyn (Moyer) Reese who survives in Pandora, OH. On September 16, 1972 he married Joan (Schaublin) Reese who survives in Mt. Cory, OH.
Ron graduated from Cory Rawson High School in 1968. He then graduated from the Ohio State University with a bachelors degree in Animal Science in 1973. Ron was in the United States Army Reserves and was honorably discharged after six years of service. He was a lifetime member at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. Ron was a bold follower of Jesus Christ. He was a farmer for most of his life and took great pride in his dairy, hog and grain farm. He was also passionate about being a great steward of his land. Ron was a founding member of NovAgra Fertilizer company. He was a family man and cherished his wife Joan and loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Ron always enjoyed spending time with his family at various game nights, holidays and just getting together for supper. Ron also found joy in going to Hemlock Lake in MI with his beloved family and friends.
Ron is survived by his mother, Evelyn R. Reese of Pandora, OH, wife, Joan K. Reese of Mt. Cory, OH, children, Jennifer "Jen" (Jeff) Wahl of Columbus, OH, Carrie (Matthew) Spohn of Euless, TX, Erick (Kimberly) Reese of Mt. Cory, OH, Anna (Brendon) Reiners of Delta, OH, Kelsey (Nick) Hirsch of New Albany, OH, grandchildren, Rachel, Allie, Joseph, Benjamin Wahl, Kya Spohn, Daniel, Abby, Andrew, Josie Reese, Samuel, Jemma, Gideon Reiners, siblings, David (Jan) Reese of Mt. Cory, OH, Kathie Inniger of Columbus, OH, and Jana K. (Steve) Amstutz of Pandora, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Mike Inniger.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Chiles-Laman Funeral Homes, Bluffton Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 11:00 am at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 119 Main Street, Benton Ridge, OH 45816. Pastor Kimberly Reese and Rev. Richard Hiltibran to officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Youth For Christ of Northwest Ohio, 10111 US-224, Findlay, OH 45840 or Children's Mentoring Connection of Hancock County, 305 E. Lincoln Street, Findlay, OH 45840.
