Photo-story: 2022 Good Friday Procession of the Cross
The 2022 Good Friday Procession of the Cross continued a tradition of 25 years or more in Bluffton. On Friday, April 15, people of all ages gathered to carry and process with the cross from church to church in the village.
The cross, which weighs some 200 pounds, was created by a parishioner of the English Evangelical Lutheran Church from the beams of a barn. At each of the six churches visited by the procession, the bearers put down the cross and clergy from one or more churches lead those present in prayer.
The event is coordinated by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association and included clergy from the following churches:
Bluffton Presbyterian Church, 112 N Main St.
Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 8905 Columbus Grove-Bluffton Rd.
Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 8375 Phillips Rd.
English Lutheran Church, 111 Grove St.
First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St.
First United Methodist Church, 116 Church St.
Pleasant View United Methodist Church, 300 Twp. Rd. 37
St. John's United Church of Christ, 2223 W College Ave.
St. Mary's Catholic Church, 160 N. Spring St.
The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association is chaired by Rev. Jeremy Mann. Additional information about the group can be found at https://www.facebook.com/BlufftonBAMA
