Bluffton girls sting Hornets, 15-0

The visiting Bluffton High School varsity softball team shut out local non-league rival Cory-Rawson 15-0 on a chilly Tuesday evening, April 26.
The Pirate girls improved to 6-5 with the lopsided victory.
Winless C-R fell to 0-7 with the defeat.
Pirate hurler Hannah Davis gave up just two hits over seven innings to earn the shutout and her sixth win. She aided her own cause with a hit and two runs batted in.
Olivia Hobensack led the Pirate offense with a double, three singles and four runs batted in.
Addie Businger stroked two hits and collected one RBI. Riley Busch and Dyllan Worcester each singled and drove in a run.
Pirate senior catcher Sophie Bricker singled. Adanna Johnstone had an RBI hit.
Lauren Swartzlander contributed one RBI on a hit.
Duffman doubled and Elchert hit a single for the two C-R hits.
Bluffton out-hit C-R 12-2, and took advantage of five Hornet errors.

The Pirate girls game vs. defending Northwest Conference champion Lincolnview (11-2, 3-1 NWC) was rained out Monday and rescheduled for Saturday, April 30.
Bluffton hosts non-league foe Ottoville (1-8) Wednesday.
Bluffton (2-1 NWC) then visits Spencerville (3-11, 0-4 NWC) Thursday. The Pirates play Delphos Jefferson (3-8, 1-2 NWC) Friday in another league makeup game Friday.
