Pirate boys 2nd at district meet

The Bluffton boys track and field team finished a strong second at the Div. III district meet on a warm Thursday, May 19, and Saturday, May 21, at Ada's War Memorial Stadium.
Columbus Grove won the boys team title with 148 points, while Bluffton came in second with 114.
Kalida captured the girls crown in a close battle with Van Buren. The Lady Pirates finished a solid sixth out of 18 teams.
Several Pirates posted top-four finishes to make it to the regional meet next week.
Trey Boblitt took first in the high jump, followed by teammate Wyatt Lovell.
Landon Armstrong captured first in the boys 800 meters, while June Essinger won the girls 3200 meters. Essinger also took second in the 1600-meter run.
Eden Antrim crossed the line first in the boys 1600 meters. The Pirate boys 4 x 400 relay quartet also took first place.
