Jurassic movie products, dinosaur-themed scavenger hunt
The new film Jurassic World Dominion doesn’t open at area theaters until June 10 but you can purchase film-themed products today at Bluffton’s Ten Thousand Villages, 115 S. Main.
Ten Thousand Villages is the exclusive retail launch partner for the Jurassic World x Accompany collection and Bluffton is one of 49 such stores in the United States. The mission-driven, fair trade collection includes homewares and accessories for adults and children, all handcrafted by artisan non-profits in India and Nepal.
The collection celebrates traditional techniques from wood carving to hand weaving and includes Jurassic World-inspired home, living and kitchenware as well as children’s items. Some products are identifiable with film’s iconic T. rex skeleton, while others feature abstract dinosaur texture and teeth prints.
Additionally, drawing on Jurassic World’s feminist themes of trailblazing women in STEM, the Jurassic World x Accompany collection works to protect and empower women’s rights in underserved communities around the world.
3-STORE SCAVENGER HUNT
Dinosaur fans will also enjoy the scavenger hunt hosted Monday, June 6 to Saturday, June 11 by Bluffton Ten Thousand Villages and partner stores Book ReViews, 123 S Main, and Et Cetera Thrift Shop, 327 N. Main.
To participate, enter each of the 3 stores, answer a question and have a clerk punch your card to be entered in the prize drawing.
These three stores are partner non-profits supporting the work of Mennonite Central Committee and artisans in developing countries.
