Joan Colleen Dailey was a founding member of Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary
Joan Colleen Dailey, 92, passed away June 12, 2022 at the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton. Jo was born June 13, 1929 in Bluffton to the late Hiram and Martha (Augsburger) Burkholder. On July 17, 1949 she married James Dailey who preceded her in death on February 20, 2014.
Jo graduated from Bluffton High School and attended Bluffton College. She had worked at Triplett Corporation, Bluffton and later worked as a secretary at Bluffton College. Jo also worked at the family owned and operated business, Southgate Lanes in Bluffton. She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton, one of the founding members of the Mother's Night Out Club, Bluffton Senior Citizens and the Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary. Jo enjoyed reading, puzzles and baking pies and cookies.
Survivors include three children, John (Judy) Dailey of Bluffton, Dan (Sharon) Dailey of Findlay, Beth (Wayne) Diamond of Bluffton; ten grandchildren, Wendy (Ashley) Diamond-Jerew, B.J. (Elizabeth) Diamond, Jason (Donna) Dailey, Joel (Darci) Dailey, Mike (Nicole) Dailey, Tom Wiggins, Brad (Jessica) Dailey, Clint (Mackayla Wilson) Dailey, Darby (Jen) Benroth and Jori (Ryan) Shoemaker; twenty-two great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Reichenbach of Bluffton.
Jo was preceded in death by two brothers, David E. Burkholder and Donald H. Burkholder.
Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2022 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton with Pastor Jeff Boehr officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary.
