Allen County COVID transmission risk updated to HIGH
As of July 22, 2022 the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has determined that
Allen County is a community with HIGH risk for transmission of COVID-19.
The Allen County Department of Health reports that "while the number of cases is increasing, the rise in hospitalizations (indicating serious illness from COVID-19) has also raised significantly:
- There have been 206 new reported cases in Allen County in the past 7 days
- There have been 14 new hospitalizations in Allen County in the past 7 days
- There have been no new deaths reported to Allen County Public Health since March 30, 2022
To protect yourself, the department recommends:
- Wearing a mask indoors in public
- Staying up to date with COVID vaccines
- Getting tested for COVID if you have symptoms
- Taking extra precautions if you are at high risk of severe illness
