James “J.R.” Phipps worked at SumiRiko Ohio
James “J.R.” Phipps, age 43, of Ada, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at his residence in Ada, surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 30, 1978, in Hobart, IN to Mary E. (Phipps) Hale. His mother and father, Mary and Doyal Hale preceded him in death.
J.R. is survived by two children: Kadin and Khloe Phipps; a special friend: Roxanne Velasquez; two brothers: Cann “Casey” Phipps, and Christopher (Rita) Hale; and a sister, Angie (Kevin) Hunt. J.R.’s mother-in-law: Ida Velasquez also preceded him in death.
J.R. worked at DTR [now SumiRiko, Ohio] in Bluffton. He was a 1997 graduate of U.S.V. He was an avid OSU Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan. He coached baseball for Ada youth leagues. J.R. was a member of the Alger Assembly of God Church.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the Alger Assembly of God Chruch, with Pastor Mark Andreasen officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada.
