Obituary for Ida Bernice (Sneary) Dunlap
Ida Bernice (Sneary) Dunlap, 93, passed into the loving arms of her Savior on August 5, 2022 at the Meadows of Leipsic. Ida was born July 12, 1929 to Lester W. and Sarah B. (Gilbert) Sneary who preceded her in death. She grew up in Vaughnsville, Ohio with her three brothers. On January 28, 1946 she married Donald E Dunlap. They shared 64 years together before Donald’s death in 2010.
Those preceding Ida in death were brothers, Gilbert (Julia) Sneary, Andrew Raymond (Mary) Sneary, twin brother Ivan (Catherine) Sneary; a daughter-in-Law, Cassandra M. (Brown) Dunlap; a son-in-law, Roger P. Downey and grandsons: Daniel A. Dunlap and Christopher A. Dunlap.
Survivors include three sons, Leslie Dunlap, Douglas (Pam) Dunlap, James (Jane) Dunlap; five daughters, Roxie (Paul) Kloeppel, Linda (James) Steiner, Donna Brondes, Sandra (Charles) Montgomery, Wanda (Philip) Bowers; twenty-three grandchildren, Patricia “Ellie” (Jim) Creager, Jennifer Morgan, Melissa (Ryan) Launders, Renee (Lyle) Smith, Dawn (Mike) Schulte, Steve (Janette) Steiner, Tom (Anne) Downey, Jess (Christa) Steiner, Amy (Scott) Karhoff, Carrie (Jared) Reichenbach, Emily (Keith) Sharp, Charles “Ed” (Angie) Montgomery, Sarah Montgomery, Ben (Kristi) Montgomery, Wyatt (Sophia) Montgomery, Nathan Bowers, John (Amanda) Bowers, Douglas Dunlap Jr., Aaron Dunlap, Matthew Dunlap, Megan (Aaron) Quinton, Travis (Evan) Dunlap, fifty-one great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great grandchildren.
Ida was known for sharing kindness and love to everyone she met on her life’s journey. Her eight children were her crown of glory. She and Donald lovingly raised their family on their 96 acre farm on 696 near Beaverdam, Ohio.
Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 8, 2022 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton with Pastor Matthew Steiner officiating. Burial will follow in Rockport Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Homecare and Hospice.
