Pirate linksters split NWC bout

The Bluffton High School golf squad split a three-team Northwest Conference match Monday at the Bluffton Golf Course.
Leipsic captured first with 172 strokes, followed closely by Bluffton (176); Ada was a distant third (264).
Jaden Coonfare topped Bluffton and finished second overall with a round of 41. Aiden Sponslor registered a 44 to finish second for the hosts, while Pirate Eli Wenger posted a 45. Jacob Boisvert and Logan Combs tied as the fourth Bluffton scorer with rounds of 46. Evan Speicher added a total of 53. Senior Geddes Klingler paced Ada with a score of 53.
Brevin Brandt of Leipsic won match medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 37.
Bluffton hosts a four-team NWC meet with Ada and two other squads Thursday afternoon, August 11.
