Pirates nipped by Titan girls soccer

The Bluffton High School girls soccer team lost to visiting Ottawa-Glandorf 2-1 in
non-conference play Thursday evening, September 8.
Their first loss dropped the Pirate record to 6-1 overall. O-G improved to 5-12-1 with the win.
Ella Armstrong scored in the second minute on an assist from Sami Scoles to give Bluffton a very early lead. However, they would not score again over the final 77 minutes.
The Pirates led 1-0 into halftime. Twelve minutes into the second half, Titan Myka Aldrich tied it 1-1 on a goal. Then in the 72nd minute, O-G's Clara Beach found the back of the net with the game-winner.
The Pirate girls put two of their five shots on goal. The Titans fired 14 of their 20 shots on goal.
Pirate keeper Julia Mehaffie made 12 saves in goal, while the O-G keeper only had to make one stop.
Bluffton hosts Riverdale (1-3-1) Saturday, Sept. 10.
