BHS volleyball drops match to Lincolnview

The Bluffton High School volleyball team was swept at defending three-time league champion Lincolnview in a Northwest Conference match Thursday evening, September 29.
The 25-17, 25-21, 25-22 loss dropped the Bluffton record to 10-7 overall and 2-3 in the NWC this season. The Lady Lancers improved to 11-4 overall and 4-1 in NWC action with the win as they stay in contention for a fourth straight league title.
Bluffton was led in kills by Kendall Stackhouse with 13. Ayla Grandey knocked down seven kills with one block, while Morgan Fruchey contributed six kills, eight digs and a block.
Gracie Yarnell dished out 15 assists and came up with 13 digs. Olivia Hobensack passed out nine assists.
Avery Talavinia mustered 12 digs, and also dealt an ace. Olivia Siferd and Lauren Bassett each added one block.
Dyllan Worcester compiled eight digs.
The Pirate junior varsity won, 2-1.
The Pirate spikers host Patrick Henry (6-8) in a non-league match on Monday, October 3. They then entertain league foe Spencerville (3-11, 0-5 NWC) Tuesday, Oct. 4.
