Beatrice Burkholder obituary
Beatrice “Elinor” Burkholder, 89, passed away September 30, 2022, at 6:04 p.m. in Findlay.
Elinor was born June 21, 1933 in Mt. Cory, to John and Anna (Gorby) Bowersox who preceded her in death. On March 21, 1958 she married Q. Harry Burkholder who preceded her in death on September 20, 2018.
Elinor was a graduate of Cory-Rawson High School and was a life-long member of Ebenezer Mennonite Church. After high school she worked at Triplett Corporation. She then went on to work as a baby sitter, taking care of over a total of 150 children. She loved to play cards with her friends, four nieces, and her daughter. She enjoyed visiting sporting events and was a talented baker. Most of all, she was known as a humble and selfless woman, who loved her family deeply.
She is survived by her three children, David (Lori) Burkholder of Springfield, OH, Judy (Brad) Steiner of Enon, OH, Dwain (Karen) Burkholder of Lima; six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great grandchild; one step-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Richard Bowersox, Kenneth Bowersox, Earl Bowersox, Robert Bowersox, John Bowersox, Jr., Ruth Schoonover, Eloise Christman, Dorothy Edinger, and Mary Ellen Bowersox.
Services will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Mennonite Church with pastor Dick Potter to officiate the service. Burial will be in Ebenezer Mennonite Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 4, 2022, 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Bluffton, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ebenezer Mennonite Church or Blanchard Valley Hospital.
