BHS boys soccer shut out Riverdale

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team scored early and made that goal stand up in a 1-0 win over visiting non-league rival Riverdale Saturday, October 1, at Steinmetz Field.
The Pirates improved to 7-4-1 overall with their sixth consecutive win.
Riverdale fell to 3-7-2 with the loss.
Pirate Luke Shepherd scored the game's only goal eight minutes into the fray.
Pirate goalkeeper Kyle Basil made three saves in goal to post the shutout. The Falcon keeper was credited with four saves.
The Pirates put five of their eight shots on goal, while Riverdale got off seven shots, three of which were on goal.
Bluffton (3-0 NWC) plays at conference foe Lincolnview (5-5-2, 1-1-1 NWC) Monday, Oct. 3. The Pirates are in search of their 38th consecutive league victory.
