The Bluffton University volleyball team battled to a 3-1 victory over a scrappy Manchester University squad on Wednesday, Oct. 5. The Beavers improved to 13-6 overall (1-1 HCAC) while the Spartans fell to 10-11 (0-3 HCAC).
Freshman Jenna Woods (DeGraff/Riverside) hammered home a career-high 19 kills in the victory while hitting at a ridiculous .593 clip! Kaylie Campbell (Camden/Preble Shawnee) tallied nine winners, while Alysha Like (McComb) was two off her pace with seven down balls. Sophomore Chloei Barnett (Wapakoneta) added six shots to the Manchester floor.
Maddie White (Ashland) dished out 27 assists along with seven kills, nine digs, and three service aces in an impressive match for the senior. Elle Price (Pocono Pines, PA/Findlay) tallied 16 helpers to go along with nine digs.
Powering the Beaver defense was Emma Organ (Lambertville, MI/St. Ursula Academy) with 25 pickups. Courtney Weekley (Butler/Clear Fork) added nine digs to her stat line while also firing three aces. Campbell stuffed the Spartans with four blocks for the good guys.
