Ellen Mae Beach worked for the Village of Bluffton

Ellen Mae Beach, 83, passed away October 20, 2022 at Lima Memorial Health System.  Ellen was born August 5, 1939 in Fostoria to the late Gerald and Grace (Schupp) Heinze.  On April 2, 1960 she married Raleigh L. Beach who preceded her in death on February 17, 2005. 

Ellen was a graduate of Arcadia High School and attended nurses training in Toledo.  She had been a homemaker and was a member of English Lutheran Church, Bluffton.  She had also worked part-time for the Village of Bluffton.  Ellen was a long-time volunteer at Bluffton Hospital, was a member of the Poinsettia Club and loved crocheting, knitting, sewing and canning.  Most of all, she was an amazing, caring, generous and sweet woman with a giving heart.   

Survivors include three daughters, Venessa L. (Elizabeth Chapa) Beach of Findlay, Rhonda D. (Timothy Wharton) Beach of Elida, Elizabeth A. (Lawrence) Ball of Findlay; one granddaughter, Sophronia Ball; three step-grandchildren, Tiffany Hunter, Ethan Ball and Garrison Ball;  four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Fred Fernandez of Texas.

Ellen was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Fernandez.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at the English Lutheran Church, Bluffton with Robert Fett officiating.  Private burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton Hospital Auxiliary.  

Ellen's family would like to extend their appreciation to Putnam County Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care.
