BHS boys soccer blanks Falcons, advances to district finals

The Bluffton High School boys soccer team shut out Riverdale 1-0 Wednesday evening, October 26, in the Div. III district semifinals at Tiffin's Frost-Kalnow Stadium.
The Pirate record improved to 10-6-2 after the win that advanced them to the district finals.
The sixth-seeded Falcons end their season 7-9-2 following the loss.
The match was scoreless in the first half.
Five minutes into the second half, Pirate Justin Good found the back of the net on an assist from Luke Shepherd.
Bluffton junior goalkeeper Kyle Basil made one save in goal. The Falcon keeper made 10 stops.
The Pirates put 10 of their 19 shots on goal. Riverdale got off just six shots, two of which were on goal.
The district final vs. third seed Mansfield Christian (14-6-1) at Frost-Kalnow Stadium will be Saturday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. MC beat eight seed Cory-Rawson 2-0 in the other semifinal at Tiffin.
C-R had upset the top seed Huron 1-0 in the sectional finals. Number two seed Bluffton is thus the top remaining seed.
The Bluffton-Mansfield Christian victor on Saturday advances to the regional semifinals.
