Ralph L. Miller was a builder
Ralph L. Miller, 86, passed away October 28, 2022, at his residence in Bluffton.
Ralph was born September 15, 1936 in Lima, to Elmer and Ruth (Hartman) Miller who preceded him in death. On October 9, 1955 he married Dorothy "Dottie" (Bowman) Miller who preceded him in death on April 9, 1999. On August 16, 2003 he married Beth (Robinson) Boehr-Miller who survives.
Ralph was a 1954 graduate of Elida High School and was a member of Shawnee Alliance Church. He was an active member of the Wapakoneta Service Club, Lima Noon Sertoma Club for 40 plus years, and the West Central Builder's Association for 46 years. He managed Eastgate Mall from 1975-1977 and Crouse Lumber from 1977-1983. He was proud of building the commercial bank in Bluffton, which is now Chase Bank.
Ralph spent his entire working lifetime in the building business. Eleven years of his life was devoted to being a general contractor. He built sixty-seven homes and numerous commercial buildings. He was a kitchen designer since 1993 and a kitchen and bath designer with KSI, Lima from March 2005 until his retirement in 2019. Ralph was a dedicated worker who loved his family deeply.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Beth Boehr-Miller; two children, Sharon (Scott) Perrin of Lima and Sue Ann Miller of Bluffton; three step-children, Jill (Steve) Lemley of Bluffton, Jamie (Christian) Nygaard of Bluffton, Joshua (Lisa) Boehr of Saline, MI; two grandchildren, Jeff (Kellie) Perrin of Findlay and Joel Perrin of Lima; three great-grandchildren, Kendall, Brody, and Larkyn Perrin; and nine step grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Dottie Miller, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Charles E. Miller, Donald Miller, Elsie Kirkendall, and Marcille Flora.
Services will be held November 3, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services-Shawnee Chapel. Pastor Gary Holman to officiate the service. Burial will be in Ash Grove Cemetery following the service. Visitation will be Thursday, November 3, 2022, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wapakoneta Service Club or the Shawnee Alliance Church Building Fund.
