Charles E. Roby worked for Peters Millwork

Charles " Chuck" E. Roby, 86, passed away November 4, 2022 at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center. Chuck was born February 6, 1936 in Lima to the late Rufus and Leala (Alspaugh) Roby. On January 22, 1955 he married Joyce Snyder Roby who preceded him in death on April 7, 2021.
Chuck graduated from St. Mary's High School. He retired from Peters Millwork where he worked in construction, carpentry, millwork and cabinet building. Chuck was a member of New Creation Lutheran Church in Lima and was an active member of Lima Beane Barbershop Chorus. He was an avid golfer, woodworker, enjoyed taking care of the birds and his lawn, playing dominoes and watching NASCAR and golf. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include three children, Deborah (Steve) Alloway of Huntsville, Dave (Jenny) Roby of Bluffton, Janine (Dave) Fagnan of Batavia, New York; four grandchildren, Nick (Amy) Roby, Kyle Roby, Drew (Emily) Roby, Amber Roby; four great-grandchildren, Ella, Ethan, Lexi and Parker Roby; a daughter-in-law, Doveina Roby of London, Ohio; and three sisters-in-laws, Mary Lou Roby of St. Mary's, Sue Roby of St. Mary’s and Brenda Smith of London, Ohio.
Chuck was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Roby; two brothers, John Roby, Larry Roby; and a sister, Connie Sweeney.
Chuck's family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Mennonite Memorial Home and the staff at Denny's Restaurant in Batavia, New York for their wonderful care.
A Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2022 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Visitation will be Friday, November 11, 2022 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice.
