BHS Student of the Month for October: Olivia Matthews
Olivia Matthews, a senior at Bluffton High School has been named the October 2022 student of the month. Olivia is the daughter of Brendon and Renee' Matthews of Bluffton. Olivia is a very active student and maintains a 4.000 GPA.
She is in the Show Choir, Chamber Choir, Student Senate, National Honor Society, SADD Club, Spanish Club and during her junior year she attended Ocean Focus and served on the First National Bank Junior Board of Directors.
Olivia is on the Bluffton girls soccer team where she is the team captain and she received all conference recognition this year. In 2021 she received all conference and all district recognition. She is a four-time varsity letter winner in soccer and a two-time varsity letter winner in softball. She was also recognized as a seven-time scholar athlete (gold).
Olivia works at Board & Brush Creative Studio in Bluffton, tutors, and in her spare time she enjoys playing the piano, singing, reading, drinking coffee and spending time with friends and family.
During her junior year, Olivia took a CCP course "Introduction to Literature English 205" through Findlay University. After graduation she would like to attend either Heidelberg University or Ohio Northern University and major in Biology.
