Cory-Rawson among districts featured at state education conference
COLUMBUS — The Cory-Rawson Local School district showcased one of its outstanding student achievement programs at this year’s Ohio School Boards Association Capital Conference and Trade Show.
The Student Achievement Fair, which highlights exemplary programs and student performing groups, is one of the most successful and rewarding exhibitions at the Capital Conference.
OSBA selected Cory-Rawson to showcase its environmental science program based on the program’s partnerships, creativity and positive impact on student achievement. When asked about the Environmental Science program, student Keegan Puthoff shared, “The class has impacted me by changing the way I do certain things in the environment.” Senior Elliott Dennis stated, “I’ve always been an outdoors person and want to apply the knowledge I have into a class so it could be taken to another level.” Students and staff from districts across the state displayed innovative programs and offered others the opportunity to observe and learn what Ohio public school districts are doing to enhance learning and student achievement in their schools.
School board members, administrators, teachers, students, vendors and guests attended the three-day Capital Conference on Nov. 13-15 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
Founded in 1955, OSBA leads the way to educational excellence by serving Ohio’s public school board members and the diverse districts they represent through superior service, unwavering advocacy and creative solutions.
