False shooter threats result in Allen, Hancock Co. school lockdowns on Nov. 16
False reports of active shooters were received in multiple Ohio schools on Wednesday, November 16, including schools in Allen and Hancock counties.
The Icon received a report from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department detailing that “at approximately 9:40 a.m. the Allen County Sheriff’s Office received a call stating there was an active shooter at Lima Temple Christian School with multiple injuries. At 9:43 a.m. law enforcement was on scene and began assessing the situation.”
“The first search of the building was done within minutes and it was immediately clear that the report of an active shooter was false.”
WTVG-13 Action News in Toledo reported that an anonymous report of a weapon at Liberty-Benton Schools prompted a lockdown there and at Findlay schools.
Fake threat calls were reported in Toledo and Cincinnati as well.
