Betty Louise Burkholder, 81, passed away November 28, 2022, at 2:40 a.m., at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Arlington.
Betty was born July 23, 1941 in Bluffton, to the late Arthur and Maxine (Bash) von Stein.
Betty graduated from Cory-Rawson High School in 1959 and from the North Western School of Commerce in 1961.
Soon after in 1961, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Jerry Burkholder. They were married 61 years.
Betty began working at Citizens National Bank, Bluffton, Ohio in 1961.
In 1963, she began the most important job of raising her two sons, Mark Burkholder and Ron Burkholder; Christian values were the root of their family. Shortly after, Betty entered into the craft world. She enjoyed making/painting crafts and going to craft shows for 35 years. Betty graciously shared her craft knowledge at Maple Crest and Birchaven for 10 years.
Betty was a lifetime member and actively involved at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jenera, Ohio.
Betty's favorite adventure came when her granddaughter, Meghan Burkholder, was born. Betty loved spending time with Meghan, shopping for her, introducing her to the magical world of crafts, attending her ice skating events, as well as many other things.
Betty leaves behind her sons, Mark of Bluffton and Ron of Rawson; her granddaughter, Meghan of Findlay; and the love of her life, Jerry of Bluffton. She and Jerry not only made two beautiful sons and a sweet granddaughter, but spent many hours doing crafts, attending craft shows, and making friends along the way.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Steiner and Marjorie Rauch.
A memorial service for Betty will take place Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera. Pastor Matt Nowak will officiate the service. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to the time of the service, at the church.
