Keep your eye on weekend weather
The US National Weather Service Northern Indiana has issued the following information for the period of December 22-24.
Confidence continues to increase on a major winter storm impacting the area later this week in the Thursday to Saturday period.
Moderate to heavy snow accumulations appear likely across at least portions of the region. The combination of this snow accumulation and strong winds to 50 mph on Friday will lead to very dangerous travel conditions and the potential of blizzard or near blizzard conditions.
Confidence does remain low on the exact track of this storm, which subsequently leads to lower confidence in snow amounts and extent of the impacts locally. Check back for updates on this potentially very dangerous winter storm as forecast details become resolved. In addition, dangerous wind chills will build into the region with this system for Friday through the weekend, along with lake effect snow showers.
