James C. Blankemeyer was founder of MetoKote Corporation
GREENVILLE, South Carolina–James C. Blankemeyer, 87, formerly of Columbus Grove, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his home surrounded by family.
Jim was born July 30, 1935, to the late Cornelius and Cecilia (Goecke) Blankemeyer. He married Carolyn Ann (Rieman) Blankemeyer on Oct. 18, 1958.
He is preceded in death by one son, Bruce Blankemeyer and 5 siblings Patricia (Donaldson), Norman, William, Daniel, Joseph and Robert Blankemeyer. Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years Carolyn Ann (Rieman) Blankemeyer and 8 children Julie (Gary) Bridenbaugh, Mark (Shanna) Blankemeyer, Amy (Mike) Cox, Jeff (Janelle) Blankemeyer, Kevin (Cristi) Blankemeyer, Keith (Amy) Blankemeyer, Mary (DeWayne) Brinkman, Sarah Blankemeyer, 30 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Jim was a 1955 graduate of Columbus Grove High School and attended Michigan State University. He served two years in the ArmyNational Guard. He was the founder and former CEO of MetoKote Corporation. He served on many business and ministry boards. His life was a true testament of how to serve the Lord. He participated in many local and international Christian ministries. He was a Godly example to people in his business and personal life. Jim was known for his generosity, sharp intelligence, and extreme patience. He desired Truth in Jesus Christ and to serve the Lord to the best of his abilities. However, we are certain the Lord will exclaim “Welcome home my good and faithful servant” Matthew 25:21.
A service with be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 10:30 am at Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church, 207 Mitchell Road, Greenville, SC 29615.
In lieu of flowers, please give to a Christian charity of your choice.
