Cheryl S. Martin was a registered nurse
Cheryl S. Martin, 76, of Sylvania, Ohio peacefully passed away January 13, 2023 at Putnam Heritage Assisted Living in Ottawa, Ohio. Cheryl was born Oct. 7, 1946 in Bluffton to the late Fred and Eva (Wiess) Martin.
After graduating from Bluffton High School in 1962, she pursued a degree in nursing at Toledo University. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Toledo. Cheryl was passionate about her job and loved what she did for a living. She was an avid sports fan and played on the Toledo Troopers professional women football team. Cheryl loved Ohio State sports and had a deep love for animals.
Cheryl is survived by a sister, Margaret “Peggy” (Martin) Hursey of Ottawa and many nieces and nephews.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her lifetime partner, Kim (McCance) Weber; her parents; a brother, James Martin and sister, Freida (Martin) Van Tassel.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton Presbyterian Church or Bluffton Relay for Life.
